Caching is a sensible, effective way to save bandwidth, reduce the number of calculations necessary to render a web page, and speed up your site.
By default, WordPress renders your site’s pages in an uncompressed format. Problem is, at this point, there’s almost never a good reason to serve an uncompressed web page to a browser.
Caching solves this compression problem, and it addresses a slew of other speed and optimization issues as well.
